Who can use Lumi
Lumi is built for European travellers paying in Southeast Asia. That means there is one requirement you cannot work around, and a clear list of countries we currently support.
A European bank account is required
You must hold a bank account in your own name in the SEPA zone. This is not optional and there is no workaround. Lumi is funded by SEPA transfer from your own account — without one, you cannot top up your wallet, and the app cannot be used.
The account must be in your name. We cannot accept transfers from an account belonging to someone else, including a partner or family member, because the funding account has to match your verified identity.

- You are at least 18 years old.
- You hold a SEPA-zone bank account in your own name.
- You can complete identity verification, which is required by financial regulation.
- You have a compatible, up-to-date iOS or Android device.

If you reside in one of these countries and hold a bank account there in your own name, you are eligible to sign up.

Who is not eligible yet
Some countries are geographically close to Europe but sit outside the SEPA arrangements we currently work with. If you are in one of these, Lumi will not work for you today.
- The United Kingdom — not supported, despite its proximity to the EU.
- Switzerland — not supported at this time.
- Any country outside the EU and EEA, including residents of Southeast Asia itself.
- Anyone without a bank account in their own name in a supported country.
